Tree Removal
Safe removal for trees of any size
Not every tree can be saved, and sometimes removal is the most responsible choice. Whether a storm has left a tree structurally compromised, disease has spread beyond recovery, or a tree is encroaching on your home or utility lines, our crew assesses the situation carefully before any work begins. We use deliberate, controlled techniques to bring trees down without unnecessary damage to your lawn or surrounding landscape. Large or small, straightforward or complicated — we've handled it all over 30 years of work in Central Houston.
Stump Removal
Stumps removed — not just ground down to a nub
A leftover stump is more than an eyesore. It can attract pests, harbor disease, and make mowing and landscaping a constant hassle. We grind stumps below the surface so they don't interfere with future planting, hardscaping, or lawn care. If you've had a tree removed elsewhere and are left with a stump you'd like gone, we handle stump-only jobs as well. We'll assess the root system and recommend the right depth for your plans.
When to call us
Common reasons homeowners schedule removal
Storm or wind damage
A split trunk, uprooted root ball, or hanging limbs can pose an immediate hazard. We respond promptly and work safely to clear the damage.
Disease or pest infestation
When disease or insects have compromised a tree beyond treatment, removal protects the rest of your landscape from spreading damage.
Construction or landscape redesign
Clearing a tree to make room for a new structure, driveway, or garden bed? We coordinate removal to fit your project timeline.
30 Years of Experience
Not sure if your tree needs to come down?
We're happy to take a look and give you an honest assessment. Sometimes pruning is the right answer. Sometimes removal is. We'll tell you which — and why.
Common Questions
What to expect from tree and stump removal
How do I know if a tree needs to be removed rather than pruned?
There's no single answer — it depends on the extent of structural damage, disease progression, the tree's location relative to your home, and whether treatment is realistic. Our team will walk you through what we observe and give you a straightforward recommendation. We don't push removal when pruning or treatment is a viable option.
Do you handle emergency tree removal after storms?
Yes. If a storm has left a tree or large limb in a dangerous position — on your roof, blocking a driveway, or leaning toward a structure — contact us as soon as possible. We prioritize safety situations and will work with you to address urgent hazards promptly.
What's included in stump removal?
We grind the stump below grade using professional equipment. The depth depends on your plans for the area — deeper grinding is recommended if you intend to plant grass, lay sod, or pour concrete. We'll discuss options before we start. Debris and wood chips from the grind are typically left on-site unless you'd prefer them hauled away.
Will you remove the wood and debris after the tree comes down?
Yes, cleanup is part of the job. We haul away the trunk, branches, and debris. If you'd like to keep firewood from the removal, let us know ahead of time and we can cut and stack it for you instead.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Houston?
Houston's permitting requirements for tree removal vary depending on the tree's size, species, and location on your property. Some protected trees require a permit before removal. We're familiar with local ordinances and can help you understand what applies to your situation before any work begins.
